What it is:

Confession: We're not the only small-business candy company making badass gourmet sweets. In fact, there are literally hundreds of confectioners pouring their hearts into sugar and making delicious little miracles. All over the world.

The problem: For various reasons, most of these candy wizards only distribute to a few states at most. And they require huge minimum orders aimed at retailers. Thus, most people's sweet tooths (teeth?) are living in a monochromatic hell of corporate, mass-produced, overly-processed flavors.

The solution: Lollyphile is now offering an underground candy railroad of monthly goodness. Final destination? Your house. Think wine of the month club, but less stuffy and not insano-expensive.

How it works:

In the first week of each month, with our first shipment going out in time for Christmas 2008, we'll be sending you (and/or your lucky loved ones) a four-pack of something unique and amazing that you'd never have access to otherwise.

January will highlight Blue Monday Mint Bars by Ruth Hunt, a company in Mount Sterling, Kansas that goes back to 1921. These bars are totally amazing, with a crisp mint filling, a dark chocolate coating, and a texture (caused by a process called "pulled cream" that we're not familar with but would love to be) that is like nothing you've ever known. We're in love with these, and are sure you'll be, too!

The deadline to sign up for a January delivery is Sunday, December 28th.
